Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell, an American television chef and an former Institute of Culinary Education instructor and a TV presenter. She's the host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Her signature spiky blonde hair and bubbly appearance, Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of food in restaurants and shares simple, easy-to-master recipes to the home cook in her Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell had a job at the top New York restaurants and studied Italian food traditions and environment. Additionally, she competed on Food Network's Iron Chef America. Growing up in the region of upstate New York area, Chef Burrell discovered a love for cooking and food at a young age. Following her graduation with an English and Communications degree from Canisius College in Buffalo NY she started to pursue her passion for the restaurant business by enrolling into The Culinary Institute of America. According to her "I loved being a Culinary Institute of America student. I loved every minute of it." I couldn't learn and do enough. Following graduation, Chef Burrell was able to spend a full year in Italy attending the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working for La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. Burrell gained a greater understanding of Italian food and culture throughout her time in Italy that has informed her culinary style. Burrell was part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that aims to make a difference in the lives of children facing challenges. Also, she's a Juvenile Research Foundation celebrity ambassador in which she promotes awareness of juvenile diabetes. As a speaker, Burrell is on the road to speak about her passion for cuisine and to promote her professional career as a chef. Anne has said throughout her culinary career she's extremely fortunate to share with others what is most important to her.
